Introduction

When I was a kid, television was new to India. Owning a TV was considered a luxury. I remember the days when we used gather in one of our neighbour's house, a neighbour who was "Rich" enough to own a TV. A black and white "Konark" TV set in a wooden (Guess it was th most popular TV during those days) with a deep blue tinted glass covering its screen
I grew up with DD during the days when DD was the undisputable king (its another fact that there were no competitors at that time).
